How
is The Celebrity Source different
from a talent or booking agency?
Unlike talent and booking agencies, we do not represent
celebrities. We represent you, our client. Our job is
to save you time and money when it comes to working
with celebrities.

Why
should we hire The Celebrity Source
if our company already knows how to reach celebrities?
The bottom line is that we can save you time and money.
We are professionals in a very specialized field. Celebrity
procurement and coordination is the total focus of our
job on a day-to-day basis. Since celebrity contact information
constantly changes, we continuously update our database
in order to maintain the highest standard of accuracy.
In addition to maintaining our sizable database, we
are successful because we have developed many relationships
within the celebrity community. In an industry where
this is so important, our relationships enable us to
get quicker and more positive responses. Large corporations,
public relations firms and ad agencies hire us even
when they know how to access the celebrity community
because they know that in the end, it's more cost and
time effective to utilize the services of The Celebrity
Source.

Can
you save us time and money?
Our principal objective is to match the right celebrities
for you, our client, while saving you time and money.
To that end we make it our business to know what will
motivate a celebrity to say "yes." Since celebrity
procurement and coordination is the total focus of our
day-to-day operation, we have become very efficient
in our ability to reach the most celebrities in the
shortest amount of time.

How
much will it cost for a Celebrity?
Factors that affect how much a celebrity is paid depend
on the celebrity, the level of their popularity and the
nature of the request. Generally speaking, a celebrity
is paid a higher fee for endorsement deals and commercial
requests than for most appearances or public relations
campaigns.
The
Celebrity Source fee (separate from the celebrity fee),
is determined by the number of celebrities requested,
whether there is a cause or charity involved, how complicated
the coordination logistics are and generally, how much
time we believe the request will take to fulfill. To
obtain an estimate of cost for your project or event
call The Celebrity Source at 323-651-3300 or e-mail
Info@CelebritySource.com.

Are
celebrities always paid?
Celebrities are usually not paid for most non-profit
requests. However, perks and/or gifts are often a motivating
factor to entice celebrity participation.
An
honorarium (which is usually lower than their standard
fee) is often in order when a celebrity is asked to
perform or participate in an activity that requires
a great deal of preparation or rehearsal.

When
does The Celebrity Source get paid?
Before we begin our work, we require a deposit that
could range from 25% - 50% of our total fee, depending
on the project. The balance of the fee is paid when
the celebrity is confirmed, or upon a mutually agreeable
timetable.

Which
aspects of celebrity procurement
and coordination do you handle?
We are a full service celebrity company that handles
all the details concerning a celebrity's participation,
including, but not limited to: researching and developing
a realistic list of potential celebrities that will
stay within budget and meet our client's objectives;
contacting and confirming the celebrity; and negotiating
and acting as the liaison for contract fulfillment.
Once
a celebrity is confirmed, we coordinate the myriad of
details and logistics necessary in order to have everything
run smoothly. This may include coordinating ground transportation,
travel, and accommodations; setting up briefing sessions
when required; and acting as the liaison for content,
script or photo approval. Furthermore, a Celebrity Source
staff executive is always on site to make sure that
client and the celebrity needs are met.
You
can rely on us to handle every detail -- from identifying
the right celebrity to the thank you notes at the end.
Our job is to take the frustration and guesswork out
of the celebrity procurement and coordination process,
so that you can spend your time more productively.

How
are you able to determine which
celebrity is right for my project?
We maintain a database of information on each celebrity
that includes special interests, hobbies, hometown,
favorite causes, sports skills, unique talents, and
whether or not they have children and pets, among other
things.
Often
we get this information directly from the celebrities
themselves after they have filled out our questionnaire.
All of this information helps us make the right matches
for our clients - matches that are meaningful, relevant
and credible.

Can you guarantee that you
will find the right celebrity for my project or event?
When you are dealing with celebrities, who are human
beings like the rest of us, life happens. There are
no guarantees; however, we do not accept an account
unless we feel that we can be successful for the client.
Because of this, The Celebrity Source has a 95% success
rate.

I
hear that celebrities and their representatives can
be difficult to work with. Is
that true?
Not for us. Because we have relationships with so many
stars and their representatives, we understand their
needs. Even the most temperamental personalities know
that they can rely on us to take care of every detail
associated with their involvement in a project. As a
result, we help them feel secure and because they trust
us, they are easy for us to work with.

Can
you reach anyone?
We define "celebrity" as someone who is not
only very well known, but also is in the public eye.
Under this definition, we can contact anyone.

We
are a public relations firm pitching a campaign to a
potential client. How can you help us secure the contract?
We
have helped many P.R. firms and event producers secure
business by building a credible celebrity component
to their pitches. You simply tell us the objectives
and the demographics of the audience and we will help
you come up with ideas, realistic sample celebrity names
and associated fees and expenses. We can be your silent
partner, or be present at the pitch meeting - the choice
is yours.
There
are no fees associated with our pre-account pitch services.
We work on a good faith basis, with the understanding
that if you acquire the account, and there is a celebrity
component, we will be hired for the project, working
together with you as partners toward the success of
the campaign.

What
do we need to know before we request a celebrity's participation?
Some of the questions that you should consider are:
What exactly do you want the celebrity to do? Who do
you want to appeal to by having a celebrity? Is it the
media, the public, the attendees or sponsors? What do
you want to accomplish by having a celebrity participate?
Is it to add glitz and glamour, sell tickets, grab the
public's attention, separate your campaign from the
pack, or add credibility to the project? What are the
demographics of your audience or attendees? What is
your budget? What is the maximum that you are willing
to spend for the right celebrity? Are you prepared to
cover first class expenses for the celebrity and at
least one guest? Do you have access to any perks or
gifts that will help motivate a celebrity to say "yes"?
These are some of the questions to which you should
know the answers.

Do
we have to tell you who we want, or do you suggest
names to us?
We start by asking you, our client, for a short wish-list
of names. This helps us understand what kind of star
you are looking for. It also helps us make sure that
there are realistic expectations. We then research additional
names and make recommendations based on your objectives,
budget and need.

We
are a corporation with public relations, advertising
and marketing agencies at our disposal. They handle
our needs, including celebrity acquisition. Why would
we need The Celebrity Source?
We work with your agencies as an additional resource
at their disposal. Because we are celebrity specialists,
we can free them up to do the work that you originally
contracted them to do in the first place, such as P.R.,
advertising, marketing or event production.
Back
to Top
How
do we know that you will invite
the celebrities that we want?
All celebrity names are approved by our clients before
an invitation is extended or an offer is made.
Back
to Top
How
important are the perks and gifts
that celebrities get?
Everyone enjoys receiving gifts, even celebrities. Sometimes
perks, gifts and/or products can provide an extra incentive
for celebrities to say "yes" to a request.
We often recommend that our clients build these items
into a request or offer.

What
are some of the "dos and don'ts" of working
with celebrities?
1) DON'T surprise celebrities with things you want them
to do that were not part of the original request or
contract. DO state everything you need from the celebrity
up front and make sure that they are well briefed as
to what to expect and the purpose of their involvement.
2) DON'T ask celebrities to arrive too early, when there's
no one around to show enthusiasm for their arrival.
3) DO set limits on the expenses that you are covering
and let the celebrity know these limits in advance.
DON'T state that all expenses are covered unless you
are prepared to cover any amount.
4) DO provide a limousine if your budget allows. The
easier you make it for a celebrity to attend, the more
likely they will say "yes."
5) DON'T make any promises that you can't keep and DO
keep all of the promises you make.
